Khodakovsky gave a forecast on IDF tactics in Gaza: gradual erasure of the face of the earth

“Israeli infantry is not ready for protracted urban battles”

The end of the third week of the war between Hamas and Israel was marked by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on the night of October 28 with the largest bombing of Gaza. On Friday evening, the IDF announced an expansion of the ground operation in the Palestinian enclave, but there was no noticeable movement of Israeli troops towards the almost destroyed northern part of Gaza. The commander of the Vostok battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, who has been fighting in the Donbass since 2014, gave his forecast as to how the IDF will act next and why.

As the battalion commander noted in his channel, in the situation with Gaza, the fighting will take place in the same way as it has been going on for the last three weeks: “Israel will not dare to go deep, fearing large losses.” According to the battalion commander, the most optimal tactic for the IDF remains the following: “to implement its policy of gradually erasing from the face of the earth everything where the enemy can hide.”

Khodakovsky explained why it is almost impossible for the Israeli army to change tactics: in densely built-up areas of Gaza after their massive bombing, “it will be extremely difficult to move and maneuver with heavy equipment among the ruins.”

In addition, he believes, “Israeli infantry is not ready for protracted urban battles.” “What remains is this notorious tactic of a creeping offensive: turning house after house into ruins in front of you, continuing to strike in depth,” he concludes.

It’s hard to disagree with the battalion commander, if you remember the months-long assault on Bakhmut (Artemovsk) by the forces of the Wagner PMC and the huge losses that the attack aircraft suffered (according to various estimates, about 20 thousand Wagnerites died).

According to Khodakovsky, Israel will not change its tactics. And judging by the reaction of the Israeli representative to the UN to the General Assembly’s call for an immediate ceasefire, the IDF can no longer be stopped. Moreover, the United States has already declared full support for Israel’s actions in Gaza. In these conditions, the battalion commander believes, the Arab world will have to worry about the humanitarian issue: neighboring countries “must declare their readiness to accept the entire civilian population of Gaza, saving them from imminent death.”

At the same time, Khodakovsky reminds, “for a full-fledged evacuation, a suspension of the war is necessary,” and the “civilized” world, with its vaunted mechanisms for maintaining the necessary world order, is unlikely to agree to this. “For some reason, it seems that in this world order people are not only not the main thing, but even some kind of annoying hindrance,” concludes Khodakovsky.

If this is true, then the two million Palestinians in Gaza are doomed.
