Khinshtein: after all the proceedings, a citizen must learn that in Russia the law is not him

The head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Alexander Khinshtein, responded to the behavior of Yekaterinburg resident Azat Nikoyan, who beat a man with a dog. Yekaterinburg court, as reported, refused to arrest an 18-year-old native of Armenia. Later it turned out that the migrant threatened residents with a firearm, while declaring: “In Russia, I am the law.” After this, the Yekaterinburg Investigative Committee opened another criminal case under the article of attempted murder.

“His crimes against Yekaterinburg residents are already being dealt with by the Investigative Committee,” the parliamentarian wrote in his telegram channel. Also, “details of his work activity have surfaced,” to which Khinshtein urges the FAS and the Federal Tax Service to pay attention.

He hopes that after the proceedings, “Citizen Nikoyan will learn that in Russia the law is not him, but the Constitution and the Criminal Code.”
