“I once again clarified with my colleagues from the National Guard: the issue of transferring military equipment to the department from PMC Wagner is not being discussed. All equipment is planned to be purchased as part of the state defense order. Applications were formed by the National Guard and sent to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance and other departments in the spring, ”the deputy wrote on his Telegram channel.

He stressed that the decision to provide military equipment to the National Guard was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the beginning of the year and “is not related to recent events.” “Just for the time being – it was not reported,” Khinshtein said. The MP also added that the attempted military rebellion confirmed the correctness of the decision. According to him, for the Russian Guard, which he called a “belligerent agency”, the availability of military equipment is the “most important” issue.

Earlier, the head of the Russian Guard, Viktor Zolotov, after the speech of the head of state on the Cathedral Square of the Kremlin toldthat the department will receive heavy weapons and tanks. Zolotov stressed that “this issue is now very acute.”

On June 24, Wagner PMC took control of military facilities in Rostov-on-Don and blockaded the city, after which it headed for Moscow. PMC fighters, led by the company’s founder Yevgeny Prigozhin, moved from the special operation zone towards Moscow on June 23 after Prigozhin accused the Ministry of Defense of attacking the company’s rear camps. The military department denied the information, calling the message a provocation.

In the evening of the same day, following negotiations with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, it became known that the Wagner PMC would return to the rear camps, the criminal case against Prigozhin about a military mutiny would be dropped, and he himself would move to Belarus.
