Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Khinshtein appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the administration of the Krasnodar Territory in connection with complaints from visitors to the Krasnaya Polyana ski resort about the lack of festive decoration of streets and hotels on Victory Day, the deputy reports in his Telegram channel.

Mr. Khinshtein published videos, from which it follows that there are no St. George ribbons, flags, holiday banners and other symbols of Victory Day on the streets of the resort, there is no music. According to visitors to the Rixos and Marriott hotels, there is also no festive decoration in the halls and rooms, the hotel administration allegedly explained this with a “policy of neutrality, since people with different positions can live in hotels. Such historical forgetfulness must be treated. Surgically!”, said Alexander Khinshtein.

The press service of the Krasnaya Polyana resort responded to Kommersant’s request that the resort annually celebrates Victory Day. “We have deep reverence and respect for the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, people who, with their courage and stamina, gave peace and Victory. Every year, on behalf of the resort, we congratulate the veterans of the Krasnopolyansky settlement district of the city of Sochi. On Victory Day, the resort staff took part in laying flowers at the memorial to the fallen soldiers at the Aishkho pass and the memorial to the fallen soldiers from the village of Esto-Sadok. Also on May 9, at the Amphitheater 960 cultural center of the Krasnaya Polyana resort, a screening of the film “Only Old Men Go to Battle” was organized for guests and employees of the resort,” the press service explained.

As for the St. George ribbons, according to the representatives of the resort, they were given out to all interested guests of Krasnaya Polyana.
