The total damage from flooding in the Kherson region for people, housing, infrastructure and social facilities is approaching 40 billion rubles. About it informed Chairman of the government of the Kherson region Andrey Alekseenko.

According to the operational assessment provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, damage from emergencies exceeded 1.2 billion rubles June 8 Kherson authorities reportedthat only direct damage from the destruction of the housing stock in the region will exceed 1.5 billion rubles.

“The scale of damage is being specified after the liberation of more and more territories from water. The assessment of the real state of buildings, facilities and equipment in the emergency zone continues,” Mr. Alekseenko wrote in his Telegram channel.

Meanwhile in the Kherson region has begun collection of applications for payments to victims of emergencies. “More than 500 applications from people have already been received – both in Aleshki, Hola Pristan and Nova Kakhovka, and in TAPs in Skadovsk, Zheleznaya Port and other areas,” the head of the government of the Kherson region said. One-time payments amount to 10 thousand rubles.

On June 6, as a result of the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP, part of the region was flooded.
