Students of the Kazan Federal University (KFU) left the hall in large numbers where the meeting was held with the head of the Safe Internet League Ekaterina Mizulina, they write News.ru. A video showing students leaving the hall was previously published by the Telegram channel RusNews.
Videos from Ekaterina Mizulina’s meeting with KFU students began appearing on Telegram channels on February 9 around 15:00 Moscow time. In particular, they show a paddy wagon driven to the university building shortly before the start of the meeting. A video of students leaving the conference hall was published on the RusNews channel an hour after it began. Other videos of the channel show how students interrupt the speech of Ekaterina Mizuina, chanting: “Tatarstan!” During the meeting, they also asked the head of the Safe Internet League questions about Russians who left Russia because of the “story of denunciations.”
“Hundreds of thousands of Russians are leaving the country irrevocably because the story of denunciations is starting again!.. As Dovlatov said: “Who wrote a million denunciations?” said one of the students, addressing Ekaterina Mizulina. In response to this, she suggested that he “open a dictionary” or “Wikipedia” and look up the meaning of the word “denunciation.” “The Safe Internet League is engaged in transferring citizens’ appeals to higher authorities, and not in writing ‘denunciations,’” she added.
Telegram channel “Caution, news” noted that unknown persons temporarily changed the meaning of the word “denunciation” in Wikipedia. “Denunciation – in old Russian law – a message to the authorities about a crime. Any message from Ekaterina Mizulina,” the amended definition said. At the moment, there is no mention of Ekaterina Mizulina on this page in Wikipedia.
