A native of Kabardino-Balkaria, Maria Lasitskene became the winner of the All-Russian athletics competition, the press service of the republican government reports.
The traditional 33rd All-Russian athletics tournament “Christmas starts – Eduard Yalamov Memorial” took place in Yekaterinburg. Leading athletes competed in running at different distances and high jumps.
The winner of the tournament was Maria Lasitskene, clearing the bar at a height of 1.89 meters. The second was Kristina Koroleva, the third was Maria Kochanova. Both athletes stopped at a height of 1.86 meters.
Maria Lasitskene is an Olympic champion and the only three-time world champion in the high jump. The athlete won the World Indoor Championships twice.
