Kazakhstan intends to partially sell its oil bypassing Russia through Azerbaijani pipelines. According to Reuters, we are talking about eight percent of the volume of oil transported through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which is 100,000 barrels per day.
According to the agency’s sources, the Kazakh national company Kazmunaigas has already held talks with the state oil company of Azerbaijan on the supply of raw materials.
It is planned that Kazakhstan will sell 1.5 million tons of oil per year through the Azerbaijani oil pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan.
The interlocutor of the agency added that the parties intend to sign a contract at the end of August, and the first deliveries will begin in the fall.
Earlier, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered to develop a plan to sell oil bypassing Russia.
