From April 1, Kazakhstan launches an online system that will have to track all goods crossing the border of the republic, informs Eurasianet.org citing sources. According to the interlocutor of the publication, Kazakhstan wants to demonstrate by innovation that it complies with the sanctions restrictions imposed by Western countries against the Russian Federation.

The source stressed that the Kazakh side has repeatedly stated that it has no intention to impose sanctions against Russia and in any way restrict trade with a neighboring country. However, Kazakhstan “will not allow Western sanctions to be bypassed and will not become a platform for such a circumvention.”

“We understand all the risks associated with secondary sanctions,” the source added.
