Kazakhstan closed the Zhelkuar checkpoint on the border with the Russian Federation due to flooding
The Border Service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan announced a temporary cessation of work at the Zhelkuar checkpoint on the border with the Chelyabinsk region of the Russian Federation. The report said the cause was flooding.
Drivers of vehicles and other persons planning to cross the state border in this area were advised to “adjust their routes.”
For the same reason, the Zhelkuar checkpoint was closed in 2023.
