10% of Russians give names to their gadgets, especially robot vacuum cleaners, follows from the results of a survey by Kaspersky Lab (Kommersant has it). Russian citizens also tend to personalize home devices and talk to them like people.
“68% (of respondents.— “b”) talk to smartphones, 54% talk to laptops, 45% talk to TVs, 22% talk to electric kettles and coffee machines, and 16% talk to robotic vacuum cleaners,” says a research report by Kaspersky. 42% of respondents verbally ask gadgets to start working when they break down.
Laboratory cybersecurity expert Dmitry Galov also spoke about an experiment conducted by the company, which demonstrated the excessive trust of Russians in robots. “The delivery robot was trying to get into a room that could only be accessed with personal key cards. Those around him willingly helped him… As part of another experiment, the robot involved people in a friendly conversation, as a result, he was able to lure out a variety of information,” said Mr. Galov about the progress of the research.
