Kartapolov commented on the removal of Major General Popov after a report on problems in the army

The head of the State Duma Defense Committee, Andrei Kartapolov (United Russia), reacted to the statement by the commander of the 58th Army of the Southern Military District, Major General Ivan Popov, about his removal from service after a report on problems in the army. The deputy believes that his words were heard and that measures will be taken.

“The most important skill of any boss is to see problems and hear his subordinates. Therefore, I think that those who are supposed to do this have heard, seen and will take action,” said Mr. Kartapolov URA.RU.

Mr. Popov’s audio message about his suspension from service the day before, July 12, published State Duma deputy and ex-deputy commander of the Southern Military District Andrey Gurulev (United Russia). In the message, Mr. Popov turned to his subordinates and said that in the report he stated about the main problems in the Russian army “in combat work, in support.” First Vice Speaker of the Federation Council, Secretary of the General Council of United Russia Andrey Turchak declaredthat the appeal of the major general was non-public and posted in private chats, and Mr. Gurulev made a “political show” out of it. “Ivan’s conscience is clear.
