Karelian athletes won 13 medals in martial arts

Karelian sportsmen won 13 medals in the Championship and Championship of Russia in wushu, informs “Sport is the norm of life in Karelia”. Competitions were held in the Moscow region from 25 to 29 April. More than 930 wrestlers from all over Russia fought in martial arts in the disciplines of kungfu-traditional wushu, yongchunquan and sanda.

Of the 19 participants from Karelia, several athletes showed the best results. Among boys aged 12-13 years old in the “sanda” discipline, the second place was taken by Sergey Balyshev from the Segezha club “Leader”. Maxim Dedovets became a two-time silver medalist in two disciplines at once among participants aged 9-11. Anastasia Mitrofanova won the second place in the Kungfu-Traditional Taijiquan program and bronze in the Yongchunquan discipline – 6 duan, traditional forms at the Russian Championship.
