Kaluga swimmers brought 7 medals from Kazan. The final of the Cup of Russia-2023 was held in the capital of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Sports of the Kaluga Region reports on Monday, July 31.
In total, about 600 strongest athletes from the Russian Federation and Belarus came to the start.
Thus, Maria Kameneva, Honored Master of Sports of the Russian Federation in swimming, took four medals at once. She won the Russian Cup finals three times in the 50m and 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle. “Silver” went to her in the 50-meter freestyle swim.
Andrei Nikolaev became the owner of another “silver” medal. Dmitry Savenko, who was among the leaders in the 200-meter backstroke, was recognized as the bronze medalist.
Anastasia Avdeeva, Polina Ivanushkina, Polina Malakhova and Elena Davydova, as part of the Kaluga Region team, took third place in the 4×100 women’s medley relay.
All Kaluga swimmers are athletes of the Olympic reserve school “Olimp” in Obninsk.
