The Kaluga football club specially recruited young athletes for coach Mikhail Belov. As the general director of the club, Oleg Mitrofanov, said live on Thursday, November 16, the decision to rejuvenate the squad was, among other things, for the coach’s usual work.
“This is quite elementary. Since the coach has been working with young people for a long time, he knows their mentality, their capabilities, in principle, a young organism. Therefore, by and large, we did not need “guys”,” said Mitrofanov.
As the general director noted, modern football does not need players who finish the game, but young and ambitious ones. Currently, the average age of “cosmonauts” is 22 years.
