Kaluga sambists brought two “gold” and “bronze” from the championship of Russia. The championship among boys and girls aged 12-14 was held at the International Sambo Academy in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Region, the regional Ministry of Sports reports on Wednesday, June 14.
“This tournament has become one of the most massive in terms of the number of athletes participating. Within four days, about 800 athletes representing more than 70 regions of Russia took to the mats. Kaluga sambo wrestlers have three medals at once,” the ministry said.
So, “gold” in the weight category over 71 kg went to the pupil of the sports school of the Olympic reserve “Kvant” from Obninsk Nazar Gurov and the pupil of the sports school “Yunost” Kaluga Polina Nikishina.
“Bronze” was taken in the weight category of 51 kg by the pupil of the honored coach of Russia Vladimir Kutyin Vladislav Kerimov.
