Young Kaluga girls took bronze at the All-Russian rope skipping competition. All-Russian competitions, as well as the Russian Cup and Festival for this new sport, ended in Moscow, the Ministry of Sports of the Kaluga Region reported on Thursday, November 9.
They said that these were the first official starts for our athletes. It is worth noting that the Kaluga team made an excellent debut.
Svetlana Konyakhina took bronze at the Russian Cup in the 180 s jumping discipline, and at the All-Russian competition the top three included Sofya Bunevich, Victoria Evstafieva, Arina Durnova and Alexandra Korneeva in the 4-person jumping discipline.
In total, representatives from 9 regions of Russia took part in the competition.
Let us remind you that rope skipping is a new direction in Russian sports. “These include traditional jumps, and complex combinations of jumps, acrobatic and dance elements with one or two ropes, which are performed individually or in groups. The main advantage of skipping is its accessibility and simplicity,” said the Kaluga sports department.
