Kaluga hockey players started the 12th festival of the Night Hockey League with the debut. It started in Sochi on Thursday, May 4, according to the Ministry of Sports of the Kaluga Region.
“The winner of the regional stage of the NHL – the ECC team – plays in the Future Champions League 40+ division, in which 19 more regions take part. Yesterday was the first match of our hockey players. In group 2, the Kaluga team beat the Norilsk Zapolyarnik with a score of 6:3, confidently and immediately declaring themselves,” the ministry said.
Hat-tricks were scored by Alexander Erygin and Oleg Strukov.
Earlier, 174 teams, which is more than 3,500 participants from 81 regions of the country, took part in the hockey tournament among amateur teams at the All-Russian level. Matches are held in 9 age divisions.
The second match of the EHC team will take place today. Kaluga hockey players will meet with the Big Southern Penguins team from Simferopol.
Division games will last until May 9.
