Kaluga epee fencers won gold at the All-Russian tournament

The epee women from the Kaluga region won gold at the All-Russian tournament “Oka blades”. Competitions are held in memory of the Olympic champions German Sveshnikov and Lyudmila Shishova in the city of Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, the regional Ministry of Sports reports on Friday, May 5.
“In Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, the All-Russian tournament “Okskie Blades” in memory of Olympic champions German Sveshnikov and Lyudmila Shishova ended, in which young fencers born in 2008-2011 competed in individual and team competitions. In epee fencing, the women’s team Kaluga Region-1 took 1st place among 42 teams,” the ministry said.
The team of athletes from the Fencing school includes Elizaveta Lozovskaya, Polina Zobnina, Anna Belaya and Elizaveta Volkova. In personal performances, Elizaveta Lozovskaya took 5th place out of 158 athletes. She lacked only 1 injection to defeat her opponent.
The men’s team of the Kaluga region remained one step away from the podium, taking 4th place among 27 teams.
