Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya withdrew from the French Open due to injury. She announced this on her Instagram (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
“Unfortunately, the results of the MRI after the match in Rome were not very positive. I will need to refrain from playing on the court for a couple of weeks. It is very sad,” wrote Anna Kalinskaya.
On May 14, Kalinskaya withdrew from the third round match against Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan at the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tournament in Rome. She was injured in the first set and refused to continue playing.
24-year-old Kalinskaya is in 55th place in the WTA rankings. She has no titles under the auspices of the WTA. At the Grand Slam tournaments, she did not go beyond the second round.
The French Open will be held from May 28 to June 11 on the courts of the Roland Garros tennis complex. In the first round, Anna Kalinskaya was supposed to play with the American Emma Navarro.
