Kaliningrad skater will defend the honor of Russia at the Russian-Chinese youth games

In one of the cities of China from December 14 to 20, 2022, competitions in cross-country skiing, figure skating, alpine skiing, snowboarding, curling, freestyle, speed skating and short track will be held. A team from Russia will take part in the third Russian-Chinese Youth Winter Games. This was informed by the press service of the government of the Kaliningrad region.
After numerous selections, Ilya Tolpygo, a native of Kaliningrad, has shown himself to be the best Russian national speed skating team. He will take part in competitions in China for the first time.

“The challenge of our athlete confirms the results of the work of mentors and the profile federation in the region. Next year, the Kaliningrad short track is 10 years old and during this time three branches have been opened in Kaliningrad and Gusev, international and all-Russian competitions have been organized, including the national championship“, – said the Deputy Prime Minister Minister of Sports of the region Natalya Ishchenko.

He added that in the summer Olympic champions Semyon Elistratov and Ruslan Zakharov came to Kaliningrad for the first time in the region, worked out with young athletes and went on excursions.
