Kaliningrad hosted the All-Russian hand-to-hand combat competition

The All-Russian hand-to-hand combat competition in memory of Oleg Buteyko started in Kaliningrad on November 24.
More than 380 athletes from 21 regions will take part in the competition. Applications are still being accepted, the Kaliningrad mayor’s office clarified.
“More than 100 athletes are preparing to compete for the Kaliningrad region this year. For representatives of our region, this is a unique chance to prove themselves within their own walls, improve their sports skills, and qualify for participation in the most important national competitions,” the administration noted.
Participating in competitions boys and girls 12–13, 14–15, 16–17 years old, as well as men and women. The history of the competition began 19 years ago. They are held in memory of the Master of Sports of Russia, Senior Police Lieutenant Oleg Buteyko.
An athlete from Kaliningrad earlier distinguished himself at the absolute world championship in karate kyokushinkai. The Russian became a prize-winner at the competition in Tokyo.
