Kaliningrad athlete won silver at all-Russian competitions
Several track and field athletes from the Kaliningrad region took prizes at the national track and field championship among peers under 22 years of age. Competitions in running events, jumping and shot put were held in a specialized arena in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the press service of the government of the Kaliningrad region.
About 700 athletes from 64 regions of Russia took part in the tournament. Alexander Mironov became one of the best in the smooth running of 60 and 200 meters. The Kaliningrad master of sports finished second out of 41 participants. But his result of 6.91 seconds allowed him to update the record of the Kaliningrad region in this age category. The previous one was 6.92 seconds, lasting since 1989.
The sprinter won the 200-meter race, finishing in 21.22 seconds. Kaliningrad runner Artem Kulevtsov, now competing for the St. Petersburg Olympic Reserve School, took bronze in the 800-meter race in 1 minute 50.54 seconds.
Previously, athletes from the Kaliningrad region installed medal record at the championship and championship of the Northwestern Federal District, which took place in the Yaroslavl region.
