The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, went live on Instagram (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) together with State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov, thereby refuting the rumors about his illness that were spread on social networks.
“We live slowly… We don’t want to live long anyway. We will live briefly but with dignity,” Ramzan Kadyrov said on air (quote from Telegram channel ChGTRK “Grozny”).
“Further we will continue to fulfill the tasks set by you. And to our enemies… We treat our enemies with respect. We want to say to these shaitans and gossips: “Ahmad is strength. Allahu Akbar,” Adam Delimkhanov added. He flashed the date on his phone—July 2—to the camera to prove that the video was taken today.
The day before, several anonymous Telegram channels began to disseminate information that Ramzan Kadyrov and Adam Delimkhanov were hospitalized in critical condition. It was alleged, in particular, that the head of Chechnya had a complete kidney failure.
On June 14, messages about the death of Adam Delimkhanov in the Zaporozhye region appeared in Ukrainian Telegram channels. Later, the Zvezda TV channel, citing the press service of the State Duma informedthat the deputy was not killed, but was wounded. Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov declaredthat reports of a possible injury to deputy Delimkhanov were received with alarm, but he advised to wait for updated data. Immediately after Dmitry Peskov’s statement, Ramzan Kadyrov wrote a post on Telegram, in which he said that the deputy was “alive and well and not even injured.” After that, Adam Delimkhanov himself got in touch, who declaredthat “everything is fine” with him.
