More than 20,000 Chechen fighters have taken part in the military conflict in Ukraine since February 24. This was stated by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, following a meeting with representatives of law enforcement agencies.
Magomed Daudov, chairman of the republic’s parliament, spoke about the number of Chechen military personnel who are in Ukraine during the meeting. According to him, at present there are more than 9,000 Chechen fighters on the front line.
Ramzan Kadyrov specified that following the results of the meeting, unit commanders and heads of regional departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were instructed to form reserves wishing to get a job in military structures. “This will make it possible, if necessary, to quickly replenish the ranks of the security forces with trained and trained fighters,” he wrote in his Telegram-channel.
