The head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that President Vladimir Putin was given the Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov Order No. 1. The decree on presenting the order was signed back in 2007, Ramzan Kadyrov added, but it was only presented to the president now.
“The decree on conferring the order was signed back in 2007, but all this time there was either no suitable occasion or reason to transfer the highest award of the region to a person who made an invaluable contribution to the restoration of our republic and supported the people during the most difficult period of its history,” — Ramzan Kadyrov wrote in Telegram channel. He called this award “modest gratitude” of the Chechen people.
The Order named after Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov was established after the death of the first president of Chechnya in 2004. This is the highest award of the republic. Previously, the Order of Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov was awarded to the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, as well as the head of the Russian Guard, Viktor Zolotov.
