Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov in his Telegram channel commented allegations against Russian UFC fighter Islam Makhachev, who, after defeating Australian Alexander Volkanovski, was accused of using illegal drugs.
Recall that the athlete is accused of using an illegal recovery dropper before the fight. Kadyrov stressed that these accusations were not substantiated by anything and were based only on rumors and conjectures.
“It would seem that such accusations require a thorough investigation and confirmation of the very fact of the use of a prohibited substance, but not in this case. We are talking about a Russian fighter, and this means only one thing: it is necessary to comply with the modern political agenda – to blame Russia for all sins,” he wrote.
The head of Chechnya noted with regret that such biased accusations hurt the reputation of the Ultimate Fighting Championship itself, but added that he was not at all surprised.
