Kadyrov called the proposal to lift sanctions in exchange for prisoners “fat trolling”

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that his proposal to give up 20 Ukrainian prisoners of war in exchange for the lifting of sanctions on his family members was “fat trolling.” So he wanted to see Washington’s reaction.

Mr. Kadyrov spoke with proposal on the transfer of prisoners at the formations of Chechen security forces during the visit of former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter to the republic. The head of the region explained that with his statement he wanted to “show the true face of American politicians.” “Obviously, the States will not do this. But it’s interesting to hear their excuses, if they have any. Scott Ritter, unlike some, took this fat trolling correctly,” Mr. Kadyrov wrote in Telegram.

The head of Chechnya noted that his mother, wife and children, who were subject to sanctions, have nothing to do with politics. According to him, the restrictions do not interfere with his family’s life.

More than 25 thousand soldiers in full equipment were present at the formation; hundreds of military vehicles and captured Western weapons were presented at the event. Mr. Kadyrov explained that Mr. Ritter was invited to Chechnya “to convey to the United States and the entire West our serious intentions and plans, to show the world that we will not retreat and will not allow them to infringe on the interests of Russia and its citizens.”
