Kadyrov announced the launch of the first Chechen satellite

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that the Soyuz 2.1 B launch vehicle with the Akhmat-1 satellite on board was launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome.
According to him, this means that Chechnya has sent its own satellite into Earth orbit for the first time. Moreover, the device was developed by specialists from the Chechen State University named after the Hero of Russia Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov together with experts from the South-Western State University as part of the Planet Duty program.
Kadyrov noted that this satellite launch is just the beginning for the Chechen expert team, which has far-sighted plans in this area. This year, the team again received a grant to develop a second satellite, which is expected to have additional capabilities such as a video camera and high-tech sensors to measure the Earth’s magnetic field. Currently, work is underway to create a Mission Control Center on the basis of the Chechen State University, which will allow receiving data from satellites.
