On January 1, 2024, a law on the emergence of a new city in the republic, Oyskhar, came into force in Chechnya. The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced this in Telegram channel.

The Oyskharskoye urban settlement included Verkhne-Noyberskoye, Nizhne-Noyberskoye and Oyskharskoye rural settlements. Previously, Oyskhar was a village. The city status, according to Ramzan Kadyrov, “will have a positive impact on its further development” and contributes to the growth of the well-being of local residents.

The Chechen authorities plan to attract investment to the Oyskhar urban agglomeration and create the most favorable conditions for business and the creation of new jobs. “I’m sure this will be of great benefit both for the population and for the entire republic,” added Ramzan Kadyrov.

Oyskhara is located in the Gudermes region of Chechnya. Back in October 2023, Ramzan Kadyrov instructed to consider the issue of granting the village the status of a city, since it remains one of the largest rural settlements in the region.
