French journalist Christelle Nehan stated in an interview with Sputnik that the tanks that the West promised to Ukraine would be difficult to deliver to the front due to the fact that the Ukrainian bridges have a low carrying capacity.
According to the journalist, there will be problems with the delivery of tanks, because many bridges in Ukraine are not designed for a load of more than 50 tons.
According to Nean, heavy tanks like the Leopard or Abrams are completely unsuited to the terrain where they are expected, they will drown in the mud there.
In January, the German government, succumbing to pressure from NATO allies, announced that it would transfer Leopard 2 tanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, Berlin allowed other countries to supply their German tanks to Kyiv.
Washington announced the dispatch to Ukraine of a battalion complex, which includes 31 modern US-made Abrams tanks. At the same time, the White House specified that it would take many months to deliver them.
