Journalist Karaulov said he was a witness in a libel case

Journalist Andrei Karaulov said that he had previously been a witness in a libel case initiated at the request of the head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov. He added that he did not know his exact status in the case at the moment. Mr. Karaulov also said that he was abroad for treatment, but was going to return to Russia.

In his opinion, searches in his house took place because of Sergei Chemezov’s statement about slander. Andrei Karaulov connected this with an interview with journalist Maxim Shevchenko. “I gave him an interview and he circulated it, all back in May of this year. And now I am a slanderer, and Shevchenko is a distributor of slander. I used to have the status of a witness, now I don’t know,” Mr. Karaulov said. TASS.

Mr. Karaulov added that he was abroad for treatment. “When the doctors determine what they will do with me or not, I will return to Russia and will dot the i’s. I am not afraid, I have not committed any crimes,” he said.

This morning, November 3, Andrey Karaulov informedthat the police came to search his house. According to him, the search was held in connection with the case of libel against Sergei Chemezov.
