Journalist Alexander Plyushchev fined for not marking a foreign agent

The Babushkinsky District Court of Moscow arrested journalist Alexander Plyushchev (recognized as a foreign agent) for not having a foreign agent label. Court decision accepted June 1, the fine amounted to 30 thousand rubles.
“Alexander Plushev was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 4 of Art. 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, ”says Telegram channel Moscow courts of general jurisdiction. The reason for the fine was a video posted in February on his YouTube channel.
Mr Plushev was introduced to the register of foreign agents on October 21, 2022, the reason was “carrying out political activities at the expense of funds from Ukraine.”
Art. 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation – violation of the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent. It entails the imposition of an administrative fine on citizens in the amount of 30 thousand to 50 thousand rubles, on officials – from 100 thousand to 300 thousand rubles, on legal entities – from 300 thousand to 500 thousand rubles. One of these violations is the lack of appropriate marking, which should accompany messages and materials of a foreign agent in Russia.
