Journalist accuses Qatar of bribing Ecuador players

Qatar bribed eight Ecuadorian national team players to make the Ecuadorian team lose in the opening match of the World Cup, said Amjad Tah, a journalist and regional head of the British Center for Middle East Studies. According to him, Qatar paid these players in the amount of $7.4 million.

The FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18. In the opening match, the Qatari national team will meet with the Ecuadorian. The game starts at 19.00 (Moscow time), it will be held at the Al-Bayt stadium, which can accommodate 60,000 spectators.
Qatar and Ecuador are in Group A, which also includes the Netherlands and Senegal. These two teams will play on November 21st.
