Social responsibility turned out to be a bad friend
The approach to humor on television is becoming more serious. They shoot honestly, the stars in the frame cannot be counted, there are even more sketches. Still funnier jokes, but here without much revelry – apparently, in the interests of the neighbors, so as not to disturb them with laughter.
A jealous wife sticks a wedding ring to her husband’s finger, buyers are taken out of the alcohol sale on carts, the local history museum takes bribes from corrupt officials, and so on. The “History of a Big Country” project is a very typical example of federal humor. Everything according to a carefully thought-out recipe, no hack, in general, a responsible approach. It can be assumed that the consumer would like to add salt and pepper, as is often the case when eating hospital food. But seasonings are strictly according to the standards.
What they did not regret was the stars. Grishaeva, Tumaikina, Lagashkin, Maklakov, Duzhnikov, Permyakova – there is just no one. All of them are very busy people in big serial projects, but they gathered for the sake of tiny and often very passing sketches, and they work out their lines without a trace of condescension. In general, skill is growing, amateur performances have been declared a battle. And it must be admitted that the output is a project of very fine work. The audience is unlikely to wallow with laughter, but they are not sleeping either, but giggling slightly through their drowsiness.
Probably, humor on serious channels has always had its own, not the most downhole specifics. Although those who did not watch the “Crooked Mirror” under the leadership of Yevgeny Petrosyan think so. With jokes there, too, it did not always work out, but serious passions were in full swing. Bold disguises, performances on the verge of a nervous breakdown, very specific ideas about the limits of decency – in general, the comedians burned, rolled up a real freak show, and it was, if not funny, then sometimes downright scary.
Now, of course, it has become quieter, although the work seems to be in full swing and no one is lazy. Apparently, social responsibility turned out to be a bad friend of humor. It is about to turn into something similar to the official Soviet rock.
ALL-POWERFUL MERZLIKIN
Last year’s streaming hit “Hello Again” with Andrey Merzlikin in the title role reached the airwaves. The actor again plays a bandit, but it turns out not at all boring.
After “Boomer”, the actor – already in the status of a star – was reincarnated as anyone. However, the image of a charismatic man who is in trouble with the law stuck to Andrei, apparently forever, which the actor himself does not seem to resist and does the right thing. To show dissatisfaction with one’s role is a dreary task, it is much more promising to look for interesting projects.
In Hello Again, Merzlikin plays a bandit who turns out to be immortal, and around this strange situation a riotous teen comedy has sprung up – mixed with action, action parody and melodrama. Merzlikin is here like a character from the past, acting like an elephant in a china shop, feeling no regrets about it. And the role of the old dog, who has mastered new tricks, is on the actor as a custom-made suit.
All the main characters of Boomer, after the success that fell on this film, found themselves in a very difficult situation. On the one hand, they could always count on work, however, to play mostly gangster faces. Only Andrei Merzlikin and Vladimir Vdovichenkov got out of such a bind without relative losses. But if Vdovichenkov, in an effort to avoid projects for which he is later ashamed, does not always guess correctly, then Merzlikin manages to make a worthy impression both in uniform and without them. Lucky people!
