John Lennon’s killer denied parole again

In the United States, for the twelfth time, a judicial commission has refused to satisfy the request for parole of Mark David Chapman, who is serving a sentence for the murder of The Beatles founder John Lennon.
In a conversation with members of the commission, Chapman noted that he knew what he was doing, and that the action he had created was evil.
“I really wanted to become famous, I was ready to give anything for it and take a human life. I hurt many people around the world, and if someone wants to hate me, that’s fine, I understand that,” the prisoner explained.
Now, 67-year-old Chapman will be able to send such a request again in February 2024.
Recall, according to forensic psychiatrists, Chapman had a mental disorder, but he was sane and, committing a crime, was aware of what he was doing. The main motive for the crime, according to Chapman himself and the opinion of psychologists, was the desire to become famous. For the crime committed, Chapman was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1981 and has been in prison ever since.
