Jim Walmsley ahead of Kilian Jornet by three minutes at the 98th km of the UTMB

The night logically thinned out the leading pack of the UTMB somewhat, but the two big favorites are still there. In the dark night, after 98 km, in Arnouvaz, around 5 a.m., after 10:40 a.m. of racing, it was the American Jim Walmslmey who took the lead, followed three minutes later by the Spaniard Kilian Jornet, triple winner of the event. 14 minutes behind, the French Mathieu Blanchard, surprising 3rd last year and French outsider, is closely followed by the American Zach Miller and the Briton Tom Evans.
Among the women, the American Katie Schide took the lead in Courmayeur (80 km out of 170), 21 minutes ahead of Marianne Hogan and about an hour ahead of the Frenchwoman Audrey Tanguy.
