The Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg banned the distribution and publication of a popular phrase by Jean-Paul Sartre containing a short, unflattering characterization of “any anti-communist.” This was demanded by the prosecutor’s office, which found in the words of the philosopher signs of “humiliation of human dignity based on political, ideological hatred or enmity.” Social media users are no longer allowed to post “informational material, which is a compilation of a photograph of a man with glasses and a quote about anti-communists, the authorship of which is attributed to French citizen Jean-Paul Sartre.”
