Japanese figure skater Kaori Sakamoto won the world championship in figure skating. Sakamoto defended her title and became a two-time world champion.
According to the results of two programs, the figure skater from Japan scored 224.61 points. Silver was won by an athlete from South Korea Lee Ha In – she has 220.94 points. Third place was taken by the Belgian Luna Hendrix with 210.42 points.
In the couples competition, athletes from Japan also turned out to be the best. On the eve of the first gold in the history of the country in doubles conquered Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara.
The 2023 World Figure Skating Championships takes place from March 20 to 26 on the ice of the Saitama Super Arena in the Japanese city of Saitama. Skaters compete in men’s and women’s single skating, pair skating and ice dancing as part of the championship. Russian athletes do not participate in the tournament.
