Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said he had discussed the situation in Ukraine and North Korea with Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, and that the parties reaffirmed the importance of peace in the Taiwan Strait.
Tokyo demanded that Beijing immediately stop military exercises in the Taiwan area, during which missiles were launched, including those that hit the territory of Japan’s exclusive economic zone.
“[Запущенные Китаем] rockets fell in the waters near our country, including our exclusive economic zone. This is a serious problem that threatens the security of our country and population. I said that we seriously condemned China and protested. In addition, this time, China’s actions have a serious impact on peace and stability in the region and the world. We demanded that China’s military exercises be stopped immediately,” TASS quoted Kishida as saying.
Recall – on Thursday, the Japanese news agency Kyodo reported on the arrival of Nancy Pelosi in the country. During her Asian tour, she has already visited Taiwan and South Korea.
