From October 11, the Japanese authorities will lift almost all anti-coronavirus restrictions. In particular, the authorities will review the issue of new entry visas for foreigners.

It is reported that the requirement for a responsible person and the entry of tourists only on group tours will be canceled. Tokyo will resume issuing visas except for people with symptoms of coronavirus for those entering with a certificate of triple vaccination with a WHO-recognized drug. The authorities will lift the limit on entry into the country up to 50 thousand people a day.

The Japanese Foreign Ministry said that all these restrictions are being lifted for people who come to the country for a long time, for those who come for three months on a business trip and for short-term tourist trips.

The need to take a test or undergo quarantine is also cancelled. Tourists will be allowed to use public transport.

“There were many requests to allow individual tourism. Before the pandemic, 80% was just for individual tourism. We believe that with the measures taken this time, we will largely be able to meet these aspirations,” said the spokesman for the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
