In several Russian regions in the southern and western strategic directions, exercises were held in which military airfields were tested for resistance to massive attacks. This was reported “News” with reference to sources in the Ministry of Defense.

“Many points can be taken into account: how to protect aircraft from the same drones, how to cover them, how to provide airfields with electronic warfare equipment. A wealth of experience has been accumulated in these matters, and it must be consolidated in exercises,” military expert Vasily Dandykin told the publication.

Special engineering and sapper units of the unit took part in the maneuvers. During the exercises, the military restored airfields as if after massive attacks: they sealed craters, rebuilt runways and caponiers. During the maneuvers, according to sources, the experience of combat operations in Ukraine was taken into account.

Since the beginning of the military conflict in Ukraine, military airfields Belbek (Sevastopol), Engels in the Saratov region and Dyagilevo airfield in the Ryazan region have been attacked.
