Ivanovo police celebrated Defender of the Fatherland Day with a sports festival

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Ivanovo region celebrated Defender of the Fatherland Day with a sports festival. Teams representing territorial internal affairs bodies and departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs met in an open field provided by the Ivanovo Aviation Sports Club and specially prepared for the competition, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Ivanovo region reported.

The holiday began with demonstration performances by employees of the Canine Service Center, during which service dogs showed everyone their skills and abilities. Then cavalrymen from a mounted platoon of the Ivanovo police patrol battalion spoke to the participants of the sports festival.

Following the performance of the cavalrymen, sports competitions began. The police played tug of war, demonstrated strength in kettlebell lifting and arm wrestling, and played mini-football. The football match was won by a team of employees of the Intermunicipal Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Teykovsky”.

The winner in the tug-of-war was the team of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs department for the Sovetsky district of the city of Ivanovo. In arm wrestling in the weight category up to 80 kilograms, a representative of the Russian Guard will win, and among the heavyweights – Alexander Kyask, an employee of the PPS of the Intermunicipal Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Shuisky”.

The most emotional competition of the holiday was the family relay race “Mom, Dad and I – a sports family.” Among the family teams, the best was the Sergeev family from Privolzhsk.

Children were given rides on horses and snowmobiles. The children also had the opportunity to interact with service dogs.

As part of the past sports festival, the transfer of humanitarian aid to military personnel taking part in the North Military District was organized. Quadcopters, optical instruments, uniforms, food, underwear. Police officers and representatives of the Popular Front, with whose help the humanitarian aid was purchased, handed over the property to the soldiers of the 98th Guards Airborne Division.
