“It’s time to forget the name of Dziuba”: Vyacheslav Koloskov commented on the game of the Russian national team with Iran

“There is no need to hurry, now let’s see what will happen next in Europe. Tennis, for example, has always been an international sport, and now the International Olympic Committee has finally taken a step towards our and Belarusian athletes,” says Vyacheslav Koloskov, honorary president of the RFU, former vice president and honorary member of FIFA. – If the sanctions are lifted, active football life will resume, and perhaps it makes sense for us to study the system in Asia in more depth. Karpin is right: it is necessary to invite players who are now on the way out of the national team and football, but we do not yet have immediate prospects for matches. And there is no point in playing a man who will have to hang up his boots in a year or two.

Vyacheslav Ivanovich also commented on the recent match between the Russian national team and Iran, saying that our athletes showed their real level of play: “Many people say that our players lack motivation, but we must be realistic – this is just the level of our football. At the level of an opponent, we cannot show any qualities at all, the game between Russia and Iran cannot be called a game at all. In terms of dangerous moments, strikes and other indicators, the Iranian team is a cut above – did they have any special motivation? As for Dzyuba, he is either a hero or an outcast: it seems to me that it is time to forget this surname and move on.

The ex-president of Torpedo, Alexander Tukmanov, agreed with the opinion of his colleague, but said that Karpin simply did not have time to prepare: “Our team is just looking for its game, many of the young guys do not have experience in international competitions. To say that this is a national team that you can count on in the future – I don’t have such a feeling yet. Plus, the composition of the Russian national team is constantly different. Yes, our youth is really promising, but this is only a prospect, and today it is still difficult for them to be mature masters who are able to show the game. Karpin did not have time to conduct training camps or to form a team. And our athletes, it seems to me, really lack motivation – the level of rivals does not ignite the players.
