Its land feeds, waters and gives joy

There are several known versions of the origin of the settlement, which later became the village of Polyany, Skopinsky district, Ryazan region. According to one of them, the village of Polyany was formed somewhere at the end of the 17th century through the efforts of several families. They decided to move here for a number of reasons.

Firstly, this area was reliably protected on all sides by forest and really looked like an ordinary clearing in the forest, only larger in size. And secondly, the area here was spacious and more convenient for life. And these families came here from the village of Barakovo, where immigrants from the Ryazan province flocked. Barakovo was so overcrowded that people tried to move from there, just so as not to multiply the resettlement chaos in overcrowded Barakovo. It was this version that turned out to be close in spirit to Elena Vasilyevna Prishchepa. After all, she and her family came to these regions not from anywhere, but from the city of Ugledar, Donetsk region.

I really want to bring victory closer

– I’ll tell you that the situation in Ugledar and the surrounding area is not easy. Sometimes it gets so “hot” that you can’t stick your nose out. I am closely monitoring the situation. I’m worried about how my relatives and friends are doing. We all sit in groups on messengers, where there are many of my fellow countrymen. There we communicate closely, share news, impressions, cry and laugh so as not to go crazy. But, of course, victory will be for those who fight Nazism. That is, behind us. I really want to bring her closer.

Evgenia Vasilievna’s voice sounds firm and decisive. You feel that this woman has overcome a lot, experienced shocks, rethought her life, but did not break.

– After all, many of my relatives and friends still live there, in Ugledar. Those who did not want to leave. They are sitting in basements. The situation is very tense and dangerous. We ourselves came here from Ukraine in 2014. Remember how difficult the situation was everywhere that year. Then clouds of Ukrainian warriors began to gather in our neighborhood. The city of Donetsk is only about 30 kilometers from us. It was dangerous to stay. My heart ached for the children. All people felt fear, anxiety, concern. But not everyone decided, like us, to leave. For example, my mother-in-law’s family decided to leave only a year ago. God, how they suffered – words cannot express it. For almost 8 years they lived in the basement. All this time I was calling them to come closer to us, where it was safer. But they thought that everything would soon settle down, and they were playing for time,” says Evgenia Vasilievna. “But our family made the decision to move without much thought. We received Russian passports. As a result, we settled here in Ryazan. The climate of this area reminds me of our native land. The people here are friendly. And, again, we feel calmer here – away from danger. For five years we rented an apartment in Ryazan. But it was still difficult for us to live without labor on our land. We are the same people who are accustomed to living by this labor, feeding from our garden. Is it possible to exist without your own piece of land, which waters, feeds and gives joy? In Ugledar we once had all this. And so we lived a forced city life and realized that we want change. We began to slowly become interested in what was being sold in the area. My husband and I traveled to nearby villages, looked at plots and houses. We priced it out, discussed at the family council how much money we would have to save and how long this process would take. As a result, we took out a mortgage and made an important acquisition – we bought a house in the village of Polyany. This place is located 12 kilometers from Ryazan itself.

Gasification of the village of Polyany

There were already three boilers in the house!

Evgenia Vasilyevna told interesting facts about the new place of residence.

– Not everyone knows that in the middle of the 19th century Saltykov-Shchedrin himself was the vice-governor of Ryazan! I am interested in history and literature, so this fact seemed very interesting to me,” says Evgenia Vasilievna. – So, the local Polyansky peasants wrote a letter to Saltykov-Shchedrin asking him to come to the village and see their torment with his own eyes. And then there was a problem – a lack of good quality water. So Saltykov-Shchedrin personally came to our village in those days on a trio of white horses. He was attentive to the complaints of the people gathered at the gathering. The decision of the gathering received the approval of the vice-governor to allocate forest to the local peasants for the construction of well log houses. The wells were eventually dug. And good water appeared in Polyany. They have already begun to use it for drinking without fear. The water is really good here now. By the way, there are even documents that the village of Polyany was considered very large in the middle of the 19th century. It generally became the center of the Polyanskaya volost, which included many settlements. There were almost a dozen of them. But now this is the Skopinsky district. And many of these settlements are no longer part of it. Previously, there were streets here with funny names, for example: Dog Farm, Gorobki, Milkin Order. Then many of them were renamed. And I live on Zatinnaya Street.

When the Prishchepas bought a house, an interesting discovery awaited them.

– There were as many as three boilers hanging in the house! Solid fuel, electric and gas. Wall-mounted options are the most compact. The previous owners were very prudent people,” says Evgenia Vasilievna. “We bought the house itself in May, and moved here only six months later, in the fall. Since gas was not supplied to the building, the easiest way was to use an electric boiler. So our monthly payments for electricity sometimes exceeded 15 thousand rubles. It was a huge amount. It could be explained. The house with a total area of 151 square meters is quite large. There are five of us: my husband and I, two children and my mother. We are not entitled to benefits. We consulted with our neighbors. They were all set to connect gas. After all, people were talking about the social gasification program. We decided to participate. Everything worked out. Honestly, it’s wonderful that we managed to gasify our habitat! After all, during the heating season we already paid 3–3.5 thousand rubles with gas. You feel the difference! But now I’ll tell you how much it cost. We paid about 95 thousand rubles for the connection to the house, documentation, installation of everything. After all, as you already know, we had the boiler itself. But we also had an emergency situation. The fact is that the common pipe into which it was necessary to cut is private. That is, entrepreneurs once purchased land here, divided it into plots, built it up and installed a gas pipeline. That is, in fact, these gas communications are now their property. And so we paid another 100 thousand for permission to cut into a private pipe. The gas workers told us that we could wait and soon it would be free. But we ourselves decided to speed up the process. Although many here are suing, they don’t want to shell out an extra hundred. But if you look at it, since the pipe is private and you have to cut into it to connect people, it means that the gas organization just needs to buy this pipe from the entrepreneurs. After all, they incurred expenses to bring gas here. The only question is the price. It must be justified. In general, today our whole family is very happy that the gas issue has been resolved. The costs will pay off quickly.

Gas equipment in the house

With an electric boiler, the same hundred rubles would have been gone in a year and a half. By the way, we are still cooking on an electric stove. And for radiators and water heating we use, of course, gas. But over time we will also replace the stove. I haven’t gone to work yet, I have a lot to do around the house. Someone has to deal with them. And my husband works as a massage therapist. He has a special education. In general, he is very talented. Can do any job. When we moved to Ryazan, he took on any task. Earned money for the family. Now it has become more stable. Life is getting better. God willing, things will get better on the planet.
