Spartak players Daniil Khlusevich and Alexander Sobolev, Dynamo player Dmitry Skopintsev and army player Ivan Oblyakov appeared.
As a result, even the goalkeeper was replaced – Ilya Lantratov came on instead of Matvey Safonov. But this creativity ended sadly. Qatar carried out a great attack and scored a goal. Commentator Denis Kazansky could only play with annoyance at the almost fabulous name of the author of the goal:

Fortunately, this goal seriously cheered up the Russian national team, and the players finally woke up. Perhaps it was difficult to enjoy the football they showed, but a desire and sporting anger appeared. It makes no sense to ask why it was impossible to play the whole match like this. At such moments, the phrase “everyone understands everything” has been heard lately. Although I have no doubt that most fans are closer to Artem Dzyuba’s position, which he has expressed more than once:
“If you are going, and the entire Russian public is watching, then be so kind as to win any match. Even if you play against Cambodia, even against the world team, you will die, but try to win.”
This is exactly the kind of football the team played at the end of the match, and one of the attacks in the last minutes ended with a goal for the unyielding Qatari team. It is unlikely that anyone will draw any far-reaching conclusions after the final whistle of this friendly match. Although the emotional statement of Valery Karpin, who after the meeting recommended that Russian football players leave for foreign clubs, will probably not go undiscussed.
As for the feelings from the national team’s game, they are once again mixed. On the one hand, it seems like salvation in a difficult game, but, on the other hand, when you see that Russian football players get serious only when necessary, the question arises: why are such meetings needed?
On the other hand, there is no alternative, and you probably just need to get used to everything that is happening. Still, there is another round of the RPL ahead, where the national team players will have important official matches for their clubs. So in a game that doesn’t decide anything, and for the national team’s 30 active minutes, apparently, we need to say thank you.
