Our interlocutor is Russian. Lived in London for 15 years. The woman communicates with both Russians and Ukrainians.

“When it all started, the British actively supported Ukraine, although many had no idea about this country,” Tatyana says. – Until now, for some of them – Poland, Russia, Ukraine – everything is the same. Now there is no talk about Ukraine. Everyone’s had enough. I have many Ukrainian friends in London. I have never been shy about saying that I myself am Russian. She answered all questions: I have the opportunity to read the news in Russian, Ukrainian and English, let’s wait and see what will happen next.

The locals are indignant: count how many billions England has spent on Ukraine, why do we need it when electricity bills are 500-600 pounds (35,000-42,000 rubles)? Why should we help someone to the detriment of ourselves? People were also indignant about the benefits that were paid to Ukrainian refugees.

For example, I have never received benefits in this country. Not a single pound was transferred to me by the state just because my husband earns well. If the family’s annual salary is above £60,000 (4.2 million rubles), you are not eligible for child benefits. Those who have lower earnings receive 140-160 pounds (9,700 – 11,000 rubles) for two children. Not such a huge amount of money to go to the store once, but I would not refuse the allowance. I’ll explain why. There are two children in our family. For seven years I did not work only because the children were not accepted into the kindergarten. I begged, please, take my child from two years old to a free kindergarten. They answered me: no, because you do not receive benefits. But I do not receive benefits because my husband earns well and pays huge taxes to the budget, 20-30 thousand taxes come out annually (1.4 million – 2 million rubles). Why can’t a family that brings income to the state get at least something from the country? It turns out – you do not receive benefits, there is no kindergarten. But I can’t receive it, because they are not supposed to be for a solvent family. Vicious circle.

Are there paid gardens?

— Yes, but the cost of such kindergartens is unbearable for the middle class. A month comes out 1,500 pounds (104,000 rubles), you pay extra for food separately. And we are talking about the simplest average garden. My husband and I calculated the expenses and decided that it would be better for me to stay at home until the children go to school.

But when the Ukrainians arrived, they were immediately provided with a free kindergarten for children, and they have a privileged position in schools. This year, children from Ukraine were first admitted to the school, and ours were taken to the remaining places. From the fig? My husband and I both pay taxes, plow like horses. And the Ukrainians sit and do nothing. I asked the refugees: “Why don’t you work?” They answered: “We don’t know English. We are not going to learn the language, because the college is far from home.” So I also have a job on the other side of London.

— What benefits do Ukrainians receive?

– About benefits – a separate song. Before this whole situation with Ukraine, I helped a low-income acquaintance from Russia apply for benefits. We made a statement, she called back from the social services, asked a thousand questions: confirm that, confirm that. They ordered me to come to the employment center, bring all the documents, a rental agreement, and so on. She ran to them for two weeks, carrying papers. The review period was three months. After the expiration of the period, the woman was denied benefits without explanation.

Then another friend of mine from Lviv came to London. I also helped her with paperwork. In the morning we filled out questionnaires, and in the evening 2,000 pounds (140,000 rubles) were transferred to her card. This amount is paid monthly. No one called her, asked her to send documents, did not check anything. Now the girl sits at home, does nothing, does not speak English, cooks to eat, and cleans up. For this, the state pays her money. And I work for 2000 pounds from 8 am to 6 pm.

I even had to pay big money to get citizenship. The passport alone cost £2,000. Whereas Ukrainians are given documents for free within three days.

– Do they provide housing for refugees?

– For many refugees, the state provides public housing for a month, while the British wait ten years for such apartments. To do this, they volunteer, work for free in stores to benefit the country. For what merits are apartments provided to Ukrainians? They didn’t pay taxes, they didn’t help society. They are simply told: live, and we will pay you.

Public apartments and houses in England are provided to the needy. They can be given for life. They pay a penny for it by local standards, about 500 pounds (35,000 rubles) per month. But the refugees do not pay even this money. The state gives them benefits and pays for housing.

After such stories, the British opened their eyes. It is no coincidence that when the NWO had just begun, all of London was hung with Ukrainian flags. And now we must try to find it. Locals begin to realize that they are being treated unfairly. But many are afraid to speak openly.

– There are many stories in the press that British families are expelling refugees who were sheltered six months ago. Do you talk about it?

– In England, they launched a whole business with refugees. Families who invite Ukrainians to live with them are paid 300 pounds (21,000 rubles) a month for one refugee. It got to the point that local Ukrainians fictitiously register refugees who do not even live with them. And the owner of the house receives 300 pounds for them.

Some Ukrainians in London invite their relatives, but they are also registered as refugees in order to get money from the state.

A friend of mine who rents a house claimed to have two refugees living in his home, although they don’t actually live there. The state pays him 600 pounds (42,000 rubles) a month. And so do many, not just one or two people. They can not be broken, they will always find where to cheat.

But there are the British, who, out of compassion, took the Ukrainians in and really drank with him. Therefore, many refuse them. But here, too, there are nuances. Refugees can negotiate with the family they live with. For example, to persuade a Briton to call with a complaint to the district administration, they say, yes, we invited Ukrainians, but we cannot live together, we did not get along. In this case, the evicted refugees can be provided with state housing in a simplified manner, without sending them back to Ukraine. This is also a kind of business.

— How long can refugees live in England?

– Visas were issued to them for three years, so far without the possibility of extension. During this time, they may find a loophole to stay. But, I think, England will not extend their visas, given that many of them do not work, but are on welfare. When the raspberries run out in three years, Ukrainians will simply find no reason to stay further in the country. Why does the state need freeloaders who need to be fed, but they bring nothing to the budget? Especially in the country and so the crisis.

– Ukrainians are not in a hurry to go home?

“Some are leaving. But most, of course, want to stay. Wouldn’t you want to live in England, in your apartment, not deny yourself anything, and even receive an allowance? I wouldn’t mind living like this myself.

— How do our Russian millionaires live there?

– As they lived, so they live. Little is written about them in the local press. By the way, Russian-speakers began to scare each other. If earlier we heard Russian speech on the street, in a store, then we could ask: where are you from and start a conversation. There are no such conversations anymore. Everyone is wary. You won’t understand whether the Ukrainian is in front of you or the Russian.

Before these events, Russians and Ukrainians in London were friends, and now we go around each other. For example, children from Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan studied at our Russian school. We decided to celebrate Easter. According to tradition, pancakes and Easter cakes were brought to school. So Ukrainian mothers raised a high: there is a tragedy in our country, and you are going to feed your children with pancakes. Then they demanded to rename the school from “Russian” to “international”. The school owner refused. She explained that for this it would be necessary to change the documents, it is economically costly, it will take not a single month. As a result, almost all Ukrainians took their children out of school. There was no one left in my son’s class…
