It turned out how the American BMP Bradley ended up in the hands of Russian attack aircraft

The soldiers of the Russian army were enriched with a new trophy – the American Bradley infantry fighting vehicle. Absolutely intact, at first glance, the BMP fell into the hands of our fighters in the Zaporozhye direction, where heavy fighting has been going on for more than a month – since the beginning of the Ukrainian “counteroffensive”. Military expert, former officer of the American army Stanislav Krapivnik told MK about the modern technologies that the Americans are introducing into their infantry fighting vehicles and what benefits the captured vehicle can bring to the Russian army.

Several videos with an American car appeared on Wednesday, July 12. In the video, soldiers from the 42nd motorized rifle division, assault detachment “Kerch” are near the captured infantry fighting vehicle.

“Say hello to Pan Zelensky! … And now we will bring up the “moto-league” (MT-LB multi-purpose transporter-tractor – “MK”) and pick up this one, ”says one of the fighters.

“Well, something like that … Glory to Russia!” – the soldier says against the background of the American combat vehicle, but on another video.

However, the details of how Western equipment, and even in such good condition fell into the hands of our fighters, are not reported. “MK” turned to a military expert, a former soldier of the American army, Stanislav Krapivnik, who knows firsthand what practical benefits this trophy can have.

– Stanislav, how, purely theoretically, could a car fall into the hands of our fighters in such good condition?

– At the front there is now a lot of still combat-ready equipment that the enemy has abandoned. The Ukrainian military, in general, very quickly throw Western equipment onto the battlefield, without having time to really work on it. This often happens when vehicles enter a minefield.

And even when the car only undermines the caterpillar, the crew immediately flees, which indicates the low morale of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and poor training. They do not want to stand up to the last and fight back.

For example, the Leopard tank hits a mine, as a result of which only the caterpillar is damaged, but the crew immediately runs away from the battlefield. Although, in a good way, he can calmly fight back. Same story with Bradley. Yes, this is not a tank, but a lightly armored vehicle, but they could still shoot back, use it as a pillbox – a long-term firing point. But the enemy chooses to flee, realizing that two or three more blows, and he will go to the next world.

– Can this car be the subject of research?

– The fact that the car fell into our hands in such good condition is a rarity. The car can and should be disassembled and thoroughly examined.

Of course, this will not give great technological breakthroughs. Because the US and NATO will not send high-tech military equipment to Ukrainians. The Americans would rather keep them for themselves or their more loyal allies. But in any case, disassembling the car will not be superfluous – a professional can see for himself a different engineering approach or adopt some good ideas. This is how it is always done – the trophies are dismantled to the last nut and studied.

– And yet, what do these cars have and what did the Ukrainians not get?

– You need to understand that over the past 10-15 years, the Americans have seriously succeeded in providing information on military operations. The Americans, the British, the Germans and the French all have their own information transmission systems. With their help, the organization of the battle takes place right in its process. All soldiers and officers involved in the battle see the picture of what is happening in full, online.

Previously, it was possible to lose an hour or two of time while information over radio networks passed from one level of control to another. Now information about where the enemy is located, where he is moving – is transmitted instantly to all companies, platoons. So you can make a decision right on the battlefield. Previously, this was done on paper – maps, now everything happens electronically.

– Why don’t the Americans transfer their equipment along with high technologies, but only “piece of iron”?

– Such systems will never be handed over to the Ukrainians, because there is a huge risk that all these technologies will quickly fall into our hands. Therefore, there is nothing like this on the Challenger or Abrams tanks that were delivered or will be delivered to the Ukrainians, and, moreover, on these Bradleys. The owners have such equipment, no one will give it to the serfs. The maximum that can be found in Western technology is a ballistic computer and radio encryption equipment, which has been used for the past 30 years.
