President Vladimir Putin called it a priority to strengthen the system of social guarantees for participants in the military operation in Ukraine, and also called for creating conditions so that they could realize themselves in various fields. He stated this in his greeting to the participants of the forum of veterans of the military operation “Together we will win.”

Mr. Putin called it a common goal to support the families of fallen soldiers. The president also called for consistently strengthening the system of social guarantees for SVO participants and increasing the efficiency of medical care and rehabilitation programs.

“Of course, the key priority is to create conditions so that heroes who have passed through the front can fully realize themselves in a variety of areas: in sectors of the economy, in business, in government at all levels, in local self-government,” it says message published on website Kremlin.

Vladimir Putin in March 2022 signed law recognizing participants in the military operation in Ukraine as combat veterans. This status provides social benefits and monthly payments to military personnel, and they will also receive double pension credit. In October the State Duma approved a package of bills on Russian National Guard volunteers, suggesting that all members of the NVO will have the same legal status and the same set of social guarantees.
