The composition of the draw commission has been determined, which will supervise the holding of the main lottery draw of the year “Russian Lotto” – the “New Year’s Billion” draw
It is in this draw that on the first day of the New Year, the largest prize among all all-Russian lotteries – one billion rubles – will be played live on the federal television channel in the presence of spectators and celebrity guests, representatives of the press service of the lottery distributor reported.
As stated in the message, the annual holiday drawing, like all lottery drawings, will be held under the control, first of all, of the lottery organizer – the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and an independent drawing commission. Attention is also drawn to the fact that the supervision of the lottery is carried out by the Federal Tax Service.
The task of the drawing commission is to control the randomness of the formation of a winning combination, as well as the correctness of the drawing as a whole. As part of the New Year’s circulation, the circulation commission will check the barrels and bags for intactness, completeness and the absence of temperature anomalies. As always, this will give participants the opportunity to verify that the winning combination was formed unintentionally or, in other words, randomly. Based on the results of the drawing and in the absence of violations, the circulation commission will sign a protocol, on the basis of which the drawing will be considered completed.
The circulation commission on January 1, 2024 will include:
● Evgeny Sazonov, chief editor of the Komsomolskaya Pravda media holding;
● Kirill Rodin, Director for Relations with Government Authorities, VTsIOM;
● Kristina Polivanova, lawyer, member of the Chamber of Tax Advisors.

“Very soon, the largest main prize among all-Russian state lotteries – 1 billion rubles – will be drawn live. It is not surprising that special attention is always focused on him. It is very interesting to be part of the circulation commission in order to personally verify compliance with all established control measures and principles for conducting lottery drawings. Together with our colleagues, we will have to personally verify that no external factors influenced the formation of a winning combination, so that participants can be confident in the fairness and transparency of the most anticipated drawing,” said Kirill Rodin, member of the circulation commission, director of government relations at VTsIOM. .
“It’s very nice to be among those involved in this event. For my part, I promise all participants that the circulation commission will not only carefully check the main “lottery equipment” – the bag and barrels, but will also monitor the progress of the circulation,” added Kristina Polivanova, a member of the circulation commission, lawyer, member of the Chamber of Tax Consultants.
“In addition to all established control measures, independent experts from FACCT, a Russian developer of technologies for combating cybercrime, will be involved as additional measures. They will monitor the consistency of the database of tickets participating in the drawing before and after the draw,” the press service explained.
Note that since 2014, all lotteries in Russia are state-owned, their organizers are the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, and they are conducted under the state supervision of the Federal Tax Service of Russia.
